Recent studies show that successful adult scientists decided to study science because they developed a love of science at a young age while they were “doing” science! Our philosophy in our science classes is to cultivate this love & wonder of all things science to help prepare future generations of scientists. Our focus is on the formula of creating a scientist. Join us as we explore this fascinating world!
Science for Younger Students
Science comes alive for our youngest students! We engage children in science and help their natural curiosity blossom into the scientist in all of us.
Science for Older Students
Our oldest students need a thorough understanding of their science subjects, so out come the dissection kits, soil sampling kits, biology, chemistry and other real life experimental science projects that are sure to enthral your budding Einstein. They can study the History of Science too!

Music
The study of music has been shown to greatly stimulate many areas of intellect. At Huck we offer group Guitar classes, Vocal instruction as well as private violin, viola and cello lessons!

1 Literature: Our very popular Harry Potter series will have to make way for Percy Jackson in the fall! Shakespeare comes alive in the Wednesday Wars, and learn about the Met while studying The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler!
2 Writing: From our Biology of Writing to Persuasive Writing and Read to Write, we offer a full suite of writing classes to help children of all ages learn to enjoy the process of writing.
3 Math: From Math Games to the Mastery Approach to Math used by the Singapore Math program, we’ve got your math needs covered. Private tutoring is also available.
4 Geography: Our games & projects approach to geography ensures that kids will be exposed to the many different cultures, foods and arts from outside on our own country.
5 History: We bring history alive using projects, field trips, music and food! Check out our variety of ways to discover history!
6 PE: We are so lucky to have access to a gymnasium along with an expert in Physical Fitness! Join Coach K in her amazing PE classes!

7 Cooking: Who says cooking is just for fun? Kids reinforce valuable math skills and develop fine motor skills! ?
8 Engineering: Learn basic engineering and physics concepts using Legos™! Join Play-Wel Teknology as they teach kids how to build towers, cities, airports and catapults, all while learning sound structural techniques.
9 Film: From Green Screen special Effects to Film Making and Advanced Directing, we’ve got your film desires covered.
10Languages: Learning our Latin roots helps build both spelling and vocabulary skills, but it also sets kids up to learn any of the Romance languages. We also have classes in both French and Spanish.
11 Public Speaking and Debate: Learn to feel comfortable organizing thoughts and presenting ideas, and then taking those skills to the next level by performing debates on current topics. Everything from gun laws to drug laws are open to debate in this highly charged class!
